Where We Began

It started with countless hours of researching, formulating and testing until our signature recipes were perfected. Soap became so much more than just "soap", it was the creative outlet I never knew I needed. The challenges of learning the chemistry, achieving the perfect batter consistency and creating color palettes for each design. The excitement of executing a technique perfectly and the sheer joy of using the luxurious finished product, which is unlike anything you will experience with cheap, mass-produced soap.

As a busy homeschooling Mom I often found myself making soaps late at night and decided that Night Owl Soapery was the perfect name for my business. In May of 2020 Night Owl Soapery became an officially registered LLC. We spent those first five years in business dedicated to fine-tuning all aspects the trade.

Eventually, it felt like a natural progression to rebrand, reflecting the wisdom and experience gained through our hard work and dedication. We feel that Lather & Leaf captures the essence of our commitment to infuse nature and beauty into every bar, remaining rooted in the art of traditional soapmaking.
