Food-Grade Lye

Sodium Hydroxide, also known as lye, is an essential element for soap making. When mixed with oils the process of saponification occurs, transforming the mixture into soap. We use 100% pure food-grade sodium hydroxide in our soaps. This is the same type of lye used to make pretzels, bagels, etc. Once saponification is complete the lye has been neutralized with none remaining in the finished product.
